Overall Rating: 4
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is a companion novel to Flat-Out Love. If you have not read that first then you need to. After moving to Boston for college Julie finds out her roommate plans are a bust. Her Mom’s old college friend offers to put her up. The Watkin family takes her in but there are issues with the family that Julie uncovers during her stay. This is the POV from the middle son, Matt.
Overall Opinion: While I did love this, it was not as good as the main novel. It goes give the readers some insight and some answers that Flat-Out Love missed. There are a few extra chapters in this that isn’t from the original so it’s not like reading the same book from another POV. But if you absolutely loved Flat-Out Love, this gives you that ‘MORE’ you NEED.
POV: Matt
Overall Pace of Story: Pretty solid
Instalove: I think so
H rating: 5 He get’s all 5 stars. Loved this character.
h rating: 4 If you read my review of Flat-Out Love you will understand.
Worthy to Remember: Matt and Finn together on the hike, Matt dealing with Celeste, Matt and Julie with the elevator. Matt, Matt, Matt. I think you get the point.
Major Issues: 1. Not really a major issue but part of the ‘because it just bothered me’. I would have loved a whole other book. I understand this is a ‘companion’ but it would have been nice to be given more to read.
Just because it just bothered me: I wish It would have involved the parents more. I know this isn’t about them but because they checked out the house was pretty much in Matt’s hands and I think he needed more support. I guess that’s the therapist in me.
Sadness level: Quite a bit
Descriptive sex: No
Closure: It gives you the wrap up you needed from Flat-Out Love. You do need to read that before reading this.
